The XCSMP safety interlock switch is designed in accordance with the applicable standards IEC 60947, EN 292, EN 60204, and EN 1088 to ensure the safety of machine operators and operational reliability. It protects personnel by stopping the machine when the actuator element attached to the machine guard is pulled out of the switch head. When correctly installed, it provides a control circuit of category 3 according to EN 954 or category 4 according to EN 954 (in combination with the XPS safety module from Preventa).
This switch features a plastic, double insulated, rotary head, with types XCSMP, XCSPA, and XCST available as key switches with and without locking of the actuator element. It comes in a miniature version with a plastic housing and is pre-wired with lengths of 2 m, 5 m, or 10 m. The maximum actuation speed is 1.5 m/s, with a minimum of 0.05 m/s. It has a mechanical stability of over 1 million switching cycles and a maximum operating rate for maximum lifespan of 1200 switching cycles per hour. The operating temperature range is -25 to +70 °C, with a storage range of -40 to +70 °C (and -25 to +80 °C for XCSMP).
