Can it be set up without the motion sensor? I have pets and I don't want them to set up the alarm. I only want the door sensor. Also, is there any additional battery, cable or component that is needed for it to work?

Yes, it is possible to install and use the system without a motion detector. A simple motion detector does not differentiate pets from humans. But if you add a Eufy camera, they have a motion detection feature that is “pet friendly” You need a USB Micro-B cable to charge the keyboard every month or two, more or less. You can add several door detectors and put them on the windows. Often burglars do not break glass because of noise. They break the window’s lock to open it forcefully. Then same detector for the door can be used to detect the opening of the window.

Works without any problems without a motion detector. No cables need to be laid. It makes sense to have a home base near the router.
