Hello Of course you can also use the meater in a normal steamer, but it depends on the temperature, which is not ideal from 180 degrees.
Normally, steamers already have an integrated thermosensor when you buy them, so why heat up an additional meater?

What is a steamer? A simple steamer or a closed pressure cooker such as the "Miele DGD7035"?
I don't see any problems with the former, but in a closed system I would be concerned about moisture penetrating the inside of the steamer. The best thing is to ask the manufacturer directly and protect yourself against any damage!
