Does anyone know the following. I want metal? Print name badges for hospitals with people's names. Is this easy and quick to do or will I have trouble?

Not really possible on metal. For that you would need a fibre laser.
It has trouble on metal, I would advise against it.
Not all metal is the same.
Would definitely test beforehand.
Certain metals will work...
