The TT Rider 550 lives up to its name. Although only the maps of Europe are installed, you can download and install all maps available worldwide at any time. Since the memory is limited, it makes sense to have only the maps you need installed.

I bought the Rider 550 here on digitec in 2019 and have only been travelling in Europe with the pre-installed map since then. This has always worked without any problems with the updates. However, when I wanted to install a map outside Europe in 2024, it didn't work on the device or via customer login or MyDrive. Fortunately, after sending a photo of the packaging with World Maps on it, Tomtom Livechat reactivated it on my device. No explanation was given as to why I could no longer access the maps that were actually included. I have used the sat nav regularly, but have not installed any additional maps since I bought it. Was that the reason? I don't know. Hence my advice to anyone who may have the same problem: Write to the chat and insist on activation. (I'm sure you can find photos of the packaging somewhere, if no longer available ;-)
