Product details
BELL® P-39D AIRACOBRA® is an American single-engine fighter aircraft from the World War II era. It features a metal construction with a classic tail in a low-wing configuration and a tricycle landing gear. This aircraft was produced from 1940 to 1944. The primary user of this aircraft was the Soviet Union, which received it as part of land-lease support. The advantage of the aircraft was its high top speed and good performance at low altitudes. These characteristics were successfully utilized by both American and Soviet air forces, making the Airacobra an attack aircraft for ground target engagement. At low altitudes, the Airacobra outperformed the German aircraft Bf 109 and Fw 190. The arguably best pilot was Alexander Pokryshkin, who achieved 48 of his 59 victories in the P-39. He flew this type of aircraft, even though other pilots in his unit received Russian equipment.
BELL® P-39Q AIRACOBRA® has been designed with 380 COBI building blocks in a 1:32 scale. The brick model features many movable elements such as a rotating propeller, movable ailerons, and wheels with rubber tires that can be folded into a horizontal position. Details and historical American olive drab painting have been replicated. The cockpit can be opened to accommodate the historical pilot figure inside. Thanks to a special display stand with a plaque bearing the name of the aircraft and a spot for attaching the figure, the entire set looks fantastic. The model uses durable prints and historical markings. This set completes the collection of World War II aircraft in 1:32 scale and is aimed at enthusiasts of history, military technology, and high-quality building block models.
