Product details
The licensed Willys Jeep has been released in the livery of the British SAS troops. The world's most popular off-road vehicle from World War II has been designed at a scale of 1:35 and consists of 180 elements. The featured model is distinctly different from those used by the US Army. What stands out is the very characteristic cut-out grille of the vehicle with the condenser next to it. This modification of the factory vehicle allows for operation under harsh desert conditions, where overheating can easily occur. The sand paint job and the survival items necessary for the desert on the hood and at the rear highlight the vehicle and give it the atmosphere of a battle in Africa. The set includes a skeleton lying under a desert palm tree. Surrounding it are interesting accessories: helmets, weapons, and a bottle.
The Special Air Service (SAS) was founded in 1941 by British officer David Stirling as an elite special unit for operations behind enemy lines. Initially, they operated in the North African desert, conducting sabotage missions against the Axis forces, particularly targeting enemy airfields and vehicles. As the war progressed, the SAS expanded its operations into Europe. In Normandy, they carried out sabotage operations after the D-Day invasion in 1944 and supported the resistance in France, Belgium, and Italy. They attacked German supply routes, bridges, and railways, crippling the enemy's transport and logistics. The SAS quickly gained a reputation for their effective and unconventional tactics. During the war, these units played a key role in weakening the Axis powers and became a legendary special forces formation.
