The concept for this statue is inspired by official Darksiders II artwork, where Death wears the Necromancer armor. This is a lootable armor set in the game that enhances Death's arcane abilities. The weapon he wields is his signature dual scythes, which are his starting weapon, and the base design originates from the Kingdom of the Dead, one of the main worlds in Darksiders II.

Another point to note is the amulet shards on his chest. The amulet is a piece of jewelry that contains the souls of his Nephilim brothers whom he has killed, and the Crowfather is the guardian of this amulet. After Death's encounter with the Crowfather at the beginning of the game, the amulet shatters, and its fragments embed deeply into Death's chest, serving as a permanent reminder of the sin he committed against his people.
