Yip Yips – sometimes just called "Martians" – are the curious extraterrestrials from Sesame Street who are constantly fascinated by the most ordinary things and try to figure out what they are for with lots of "yip yip." The costume has no buttons or other fasteners; it simply slips over you like a sack. The inside of the head is shaped like a cap, so the costume doesn't slip off easily. The black mouth opening is made of mesh fabric, giving you a good view outside. Additionally, the mesh can be opened with a zipper, allowing you to eat and drink without having to take off the costume. The "lower lip" of the Yip Yips is thickened, so you can move it up and down with your hands to create funny expressions. The costume also features invisible side slits through which you can put your arms if needed. The antennas next to the large eyes can be bent like pipe cleaners.
