Notable features include many added details such as the locomotive whistle, exposed pipes, and piston protection tubes. The PIKO BR 55 is equipped with a digitally switchable, direction-dependent light change, a heavy zinc die-cast frame, and a powerful motor for excellent driving characteristics. A close locomotive-tender distance is mandatory for PIKO models. Thanks to the integrated Next18 interface, retrofitting a digital decoder and sound can be done with just a few simple steps. The model is equipped with TT short couplings.
