The locomotive 1144 040, also known as the modern nostalgia locomotive, is the last of its series to operate in the blood orange original design with a black frame and Pflatsch logo. It was put into service in 1979 as 1044.40 and was equipped with push-pull control and LED headlights in 2010, after which it was renumbered to 1144 040. However, the number 1144.40 is still displayed on the front. In this appearance, the locomotive has been reliably in service to this day.
