Train set with four express coaches and one luggage car from the Royal Württemberg State Railways. It consists of one 1st/2nd class coach, type ABBü, one 1st/2nd/3rd class coach, type ABCCü, one 2nd/3rd class coach, type BCCü, one 3rd class coach, type CCü, and one luggage car, type Gep. The K.W.St.E. was considered one of the most modern railways in Europe in the second half of the 19th century. The decision to adopt the American system of bogie intercommunication cars was only implemented by a few railways in Europe at that time. The highlight and culmination of this development were the Württemberg express coaches as they were built by the Esslingen machine factory starting in 1909. The standardization and strict normalization of the components were the most important features of these coaches. The main routes for the Württemberg express coaches included connections from Stuttgart to Zurich and Friedrichshafen to Cologne, and for a time also Stuttgart to Nancy. As through coaches, they traveled throughout Germany and across half of Europe.
