Giant tortoises are large land tortoises that can weigh over 400 kg. They have very short but strong legs, like the giant tortoise from Schleich Wild Life, which they use to move around in search of fresh grasses and herbs. These reptiles can reach an impressive age and often live over 100 years in the wild. When threatened, giant tortoises retract their heads and legs into their shells.
