A Saichania was about seven meters long and covered with a spiky armor. With its club-like tail, it could defend itself against attackers. With its complex respiratory system and unusually hard palate, this dinosaur was adapted to life in the desert, where it fed on tough-leaved plants. Anecdote: Saichania roughly means "beauty." However, this does not refer to its armored exterior. Its discoverers were more pleased with the well-preserved skeleton. Scientific name: Saichania. Conservation status: Extinct.
