To operate small 0.3-6 V motors at a higher voltage, this PWM controller has been developed. It is powered at the input with 6-18 V DC/AC. The circuit generates a pulse-width modulated voltage of 5 V DC from this input. The small trimmer allows for adjusting the modulation and thus the speed over a wide range. This circuit is suitable for controlling special functions in RC modeling (radar antennas, windshield wipers, etc.) and model railway construction (windmills, carnival rides, etc.). At higher input voltages or significant current draw, the module should be adequately cooled to prevent overheating and unintended changes in speed.
