Product details

The display model is a replica of the heavy German tank destroyer named Elefant. The development of the Elefant in full scale is an interesting case study in weapon development. The chassis was designed by Porsche in the competition for the Tiger I. Although Porsche was confident enough in its success to complete 100 chassis before the end of the competition, the design was not selected. The "remaining" chassis was transformed into the Elefant in 1942 – by May 1943, about 90 units had been built. With armor plates up to 200 mm thick and a powerful 8.8 cm long-barreled gun, it was an impressive weapon and served German troops until the end of World War II.

This detailed model kit is in 1:48 scale. The high-quality kit from TAMIYA requires assembly by the user. The assembly process is accompanied by a step-by-step or illustrated instruction manual, which is included in the package. Based on the instruction manual, the precisely fitting individual parts must be assembled. Painting of the parts can be done according to personal preferences. Tools, glue, and paints are not included in the plastic kit and must be purchased separately. Warning! Not suitable for children under 36 months. Scale: 1:48. Length: 172 mm. Contents: model kit (vehicle), 1 figure, instructions, decals. Recommended age: from 14 years.
