Aquacel Extra Hydrofiber Dressing is a soft, sterile, non-woven compress made from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and regenerated cellulose fiber for reinforcement. This highly absorbent dressing absorbs wound exudate and forms a soft gel. The gel keeps the wound moist and creates an optimal healing environment. Aquacel Extra supports the healing process and facilitates the removal of dead tissue from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging the newly formed tissue.
