10. Microdacyn 60 Wound Care
Microdacyn Wound Care is a ready-to-use wound irrigation solution with activated (nascent) oxygen. It consists of ultra-pure water and small amounts of NaCl and is produced using the patented Microcyn technology from Oculus Innovative Science. The ingredient hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in Microdacyn 60 Wound Care uses a physical defence mechanism against pathogens, similar to the body's natural processes. Foreign bodies are not removed chemically, but destroyed by a purely natural physical process. The hypotonic Microdacyn 60 wound care solution ensures that more water flows into the cells to equalise the osmotic gradient, which leads to osmolysis (non-specific osmotic shock) in which cells burst due to increasing internal pressure. The wound irrigation solution facilitates the mechanical removal of microorganisms and cell decay. Microorganisms are largely flushed away with Microdacyn 60 Wound Care and other soluble components are also removed. Microdacyn 60 Wound Care can be left on the wound to take effect and supports wound cleansing, as pre-damaged cells in infected wounds lyse more quickly under its influence. The preservative in Microdacyn 60 Wound Care, hypochlorous acid (HOCl), has excellent antimicrobial properties that ensure the sterility of the wound irrigation solution throughout its application.
