Product details
The time-honored "boonie hat", also popularly known as a brimmed hat, originally gained great popularity as a tropical hat for the US Army. Even 55 years later, it enjoys great popularity and is increasingly traded as a garment for everyone. With its wide brim, it reliably protects the head and face from the sun's rays. In the stable ripstop version, the lightweight "Boonie Hat" is particularly tear-resistant and durable, but can also be rolled up and tucked into your pants pocket.
Four ventilation holes with insect mesh, which prevent the penetration of small insects, and the breathable, skin-friendly cotton fabric provide pleasant air circulation and thus increase the wearing comfort. Even the wind in an open off-road vehicle cannot blow the bush hat off your head, as soon as the cord stopper of the chin strap is pulled tighter to your chin. The circumferential loop band has 12 MOLLE loops and was used at that time as a holding device for inserting ammunition, nowadays mainly smaller branches, twigs or tufts of grass are inserted there for camouflage purposes.
A major difference from the fishing hat is the narrower brim and much greater flexibility. This means that the hat can be rolled up to save space and easily stowed in a trouser or jacket pocket for transport.
