Acer Swift 3 gets an OLED display

Acer has introduced numerous new notebooks. For many models, this primarily means new processors. The Swift 3 also gets an OLED display.
OLED displays for notebooks have been around for a few years, but so far only rarely and for a lot of money. That is changing right now. Acer is not the only manufacturer to introduce new laptops with OLED.
Swift 3 with OLED
The new Swift 3 has a 14-inch OLED display in a 16:10 format. Acer specifies the resolution as WQXGA+. That would actually be 3200×1800 pixels - but with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The 100% support of the DCI-P3 color scale and the certification according to Vesa DisplayHDR True Black 500 are undisputed.

Acer wants to sell the Swift 3 with OLED starting in July. The recommended retail price starts at 999 Euros in Germany and should also be around 1000 Swiss Francs in Switzerland. The price will increase depending on the configuration. The notebook will be available with 12th generation Intel Core processors from the H-series. Up to 16 gigabytes of working memory are possible. The memory sizes are still unknown, but Acer installs PCIe Gen4 SSDs.
The 1.4 kilogram notebook is supposed to have a battery life of up to ten hours. 30 minutes of charging should be enough for a usage time of four hours. Acer installs a Full HD webcam and a backlit keyboard in the Swift 3. The aluminum case is up to 17.9 millimeters thick. The touchpad is made of recycled plastic fished from the ocean and is supposed to feel like glass.
Updates with new processors
Acer's other new notebooks do not get an OLED display, but mainly 12th generation Intel Core processors. These include new Spin 3 and Spin 5 models with 360-degree hinges on the screens, as well as the Travelmate P2, P4 and Spin P4 business notebooks. The P4s are also available with AMD Ryzen Pro.

For the ConceptD 5 and Concept 5 Pro power notebooks, there is only Intel Core i7 of the 12th generation, supplemented by a Geforce RTX 3070 Ti or RTX A5500. Like the Swift 3 in combination with an OLED display, which is, however, 16 inches big. The price for this series starts at 3399 Euros.

When I was but a young student, I'd sit in my friend's living room with all my classmates and play on his SuperNES. Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
