Acer's Swift notebooks now with display size in the name

Previously, the Swift notebooks had single-digit odd numbers, the meaning of which was not immediately obvious. The new models carry their display size in their name. Accordingly, the Swift 14, Swift X 14 and Swift Go 14 have 14-inch screens. The Swift Go 16 is correspondingly larger.

Swift Go 14 and Go 16: OLED and touchscreen optional

The two Swift Go feature OLED displays with 120 hertz, 400 nits and 100 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. The Swift Go 14 offers a resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels and the Go 16 of 3200 × 2000 pixels. Both units are also available with an optional touchscreen.

Acer installs Intel Core processors from the 13th generation H-series as well as up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and up to four terabytes of storage space. The battery life is said to be up to 9.5 hours. Intel Unison is also on board. The new software is supposed to improve and simplify the connection of Windows with smartphones (iOS and Android)

In the aluminium unibody case there are, among other things, two USB-C sockets with Thunderbolt 4, an HDMI 2.1 port and a microSD card reader. The webcam has a 1440p resolution.

Swift 14 and X 14: OLED and Geforce or touchscreen

The Acer Swift X 14 is the premium model among the new launches. In addition to a 13th generation Intel chipset, Acer installs up to a mobile Nvidia Geforce RTX 4050 for graphics. An extra-large fan, an air intake keyboard and two copper heat pipes are supposed to ensure that the notebook stays cool.

His 14-inch OLED display also has 120 hertz, 2880 × 1800 pixels, 400 nits and covers 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour space. Acer also installs a 1440p webcam, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card reader. However, there is only talk of a Thunderbolt 4 port in USB-C form.

In terms of hardware options and ports, the Swift 14 is very similar to the Go models. However, you'll have to do without OLED on the 14-inch touchscreen and settle for lower resolutions. 2560 x 1600 pixels and 1920 x 1200 pixels are available.

Price and availability

Acer plans to offer the Swift Go 14 from February. Its recommended retail price starts at 1099 euros in Germany. The Swift Go 16 will follow in March and has not yet received a price tag. The Swift X14 is to follow in April and will cost at least 1499 euros. For the Swift 14, Acer has not yet given any information on price and availability. Exact configurations and prices - also for Switzerland - should be available when the devices go on sale.
