Cooler Master presents the GamePod CMIX Orb X
Cooler Master is launching its egg-shaped GamePod under the new CMIX brand. The Orb X features RGB LEDs and accommodates up to three 27-inch screens or a single 34-inch screen. But motorised ergonomics are the real showstopper.
Everything about Cooler Master's GamePod CMIX Orb X is illuminated and motorised. The dome and screen mount be opened and closed, and the recliner with head and lumbar support as well as the table and footrest are fully automated. The multi-purpose workstation, which is aimed at gamers, also has a memory function that saves different profiles. This should be handy if you intend to share your GamePod (or use it for napping).
In addition to ergonomics, the GamePod is supposed to provide an immersive experience for working, gaming and watching movies. Thanks to its semi-enclosed shape, it also offers some privacy. The Orb X supports up to three 27-inch monitors side-by-side or a single 34-inch monitor. Integrated 2.1 surround sound is supposed to ensure a realistic and precise sound image without headphones.
The GamePod has a compartment you can slide your console or PC in and out of.
It remains unknown when the GamePod CMIX Orb X will be available in stores and how much it will cost. The price is likely to be in the high four-figure or low five-figure range. A similar, scorpion-themed pod, the Acer Predator Thronos Air, was launched in 2020 at a starting price of 14,000 USD.
