Finally, I've been looking for just such a toiletry bag!
Just when I was about to admit to myself that there is no such thing as the ideal make-up bag, the "Fold Case" from Reisenthel proves me wrong.
From A to B with my make-up? A logistical nightmare! I've already tried out a number of different toiletry bag formats - with sobering results: if the toiletry bag is too big, I can't keep track of everything and it takes up half my suitcase. If it is of a manageable size, the zip is tight or doesn't close at all. Many small compartments may seem practical at first glance, but they end up in a game of Tetris that doesn't work.

Fight the chaos
Who's surprised? After all, unlike clothes, make-up cannot be folded neatly and uniformly. There is a wild mix of bulbous (glass) bottles, compacts, pencils, mascaras, lip glosses and so on. Not forgetting the delicate brushes, whose delicate hairs tend to snap when things get too tight. I also don't want to have to painstakingly fill all the products into small containers every time or buy extra travel sizes.
There must be a clever design to solve this problem, right? Preferably before my team trip to Hamburg. Maybe the «Fold Case» from Reisenthel will do the trick?

Storage space miracle? Storage space miracle!
At first glance, the toiletry bag made from recycled polyester fabric makes a sturdy and, above all, well thought-out impression. Extremely practical: the zip extends far beyond the case when opened. This means that the toiletry bag, which has a capacity of one and a half litres, can be opened completely. This gives me a perfect overview when applying make-up. And: everything is spread out and ready to hand in front of me.
The closed toiletry bag can also be hung up before and after use using the protruding zip flap. This saves storage space. After all, hotel rooms are usually rather small.

A zip compartment divides the case into two compartments in the middle. This is ideal because I can store my brushes and pens on one side and the rest on the other.
On one of the padded side walls there is another zipped compartment, directly opposite are two side compartments with elasticated straps. Perfect for small items such as tweezers, bobby pins, jewellery, small eyelash brushes or even powder compacts, which I don't want to slide around wildly in my stuff and break in the process.

This is how I imagined it! The toiletry bag can be closed easily, even when filled with lots of bulky products, without any significant design flaws. Nevertheless, I would like to mention this: Under the weight of the contents, the cuboid becomes slightly lopsided in a diamond shape. In addition, the openings at both ends of the zip widen slightly under the volume. Neither of these is a problem for me.

Even with the weight of the contents of the case pressing down on it, the «Fold Case» remains surprisingly true to its shape. After five days on the road, it's clear to me: I'm a fan. And that despite a shock absorber. According to Reisenthel, the material is supposed to be water-repellent. I splashed the outside and inside with water and unfortunately I can't confirm this. The fabric got wet.

The pink colour «Twist Blush», which I chose for this tested, is unfortunately currently on sale.

However, the model is available in other versions:

In a nutshell
I won't give this case away again!

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
