Saving the best for last: Salomon and Carhartt WIP relaunch "X-ALP"
by Laura Scholz

Look serious in the office, but don't compromise on comfort. And straight to the mini-ramp after the last meeting. This hybrid shoe from Vans and Billy's makes it possible.
The Japanese concept store chain Billy's, with shops in metropolises such as Tokyo, Sapporo and Kyōto, is known for its excellent selection of streetwear. It is so well-known that even renowned brands such as Adidas and Asics like to provide it with limited special editions. Or develop them in collaboration with Billy's.
This has now happened with the US brand Vans. It has given Billy's the creative power over its legendary slip-ons. One extensive Japanese makeover later, they are barely recognisable.

The flat canvas slip-on skate shoes have been transformed into cool leather loafers with detachable tassels. The thick rubber sole with the characteristic waffle look and the iconic «Vans off the Wall» logo remain and cannot be recognised. Street culture meets the office world.

From 3 April, the loafers will be available in black and brown/black in sizes 37 to 45 in the Billy's online shop. Cost: approx. 66 francs.
Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
From the latest iPhone to the return of 80s fashion. The editorial team will help you make sense of it all.
