Galaxus grows by 17 per cent in 2025

Online retailer Galaxus increased platform sales by 17 per cent to 3.8 billion Swiss francs (4 billion euros) in 2025 – the second-largest growth period in its history. In EU markets, Galaxus grew by 15 per cent and posted sales of 418 million euros (391 million Swiss francs).

Another strong year for Galaxus: the online retailer increased sales from its two shops Galaxus and Digitec by 17 per cent to 3.764 billion Swiss francs (4.023 billion euros) in Switzerland and the EU over the last twelve months. This leap in sales – 536 million Swiss francs – is the second largest in the company’s history. The only time Galaxus recorded more growth was during Covid in 2020. Net sales from deliveries and services rendered climbed by 14 per cent compared to 2024, reaching 3.304 billion Swiss francs (3.531 billion euros). From January to December, 5 million people shopped at Galaxus at least once – that’s 500,000 more than the previous year.

Florian Teuteberg, CEO of Digitec Galaxus, sees four main reasons for this sustained high growth rate:

  1. The Expanding product range: «Today, there are ten million products on sale at Galaxus – in late 2024, there were still only eight million, and only three million at the end of 2020. The marketplace is making a strong contribution to this growth. Evidently, we’re increasingly living up to our promise of having «pretty much everything».»
  2. Shopping experience: «We’re working hard to make browsing and shopping in the online store even easier and more convenient. And we make sure everything runs smoothly after a purchase, too.»
  3. Honesty: thanks to transparency features, Galaxus customers can, for example, check the price history and warranty case rates of all products as well as the CO₂ emissions generated by purchases. The in-house editorial team also relentlessly exposes the strengths and weaknesses of products in the range with its tests and reviews. «All of this strengthens our customers’ trust in our online shops,» says Florian.
  4. Services: in Switzerland, Galaxus added a TV plan to its mobile and internet plans. Galaxus Internet is now also available for households without a fibre-optic connection.

EU business also growing

Galaxus continues to do most of its business in its home market of Switzerland. EU countries Germany, Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands and Belgium account for 412 million euros (CHF 391 million) in platform sales in 2025, which corresponds to an increase of 15 per cent compared to the previous year. Net sales grew by 14 per cent to 405 million euros (CHF 379 million).

On top of this, Galaxus grew by 27 per cent in the EU in 2024. «We’ve shifted the pendulum slightly towards profitability and invested less in marketing. Nevertheless, we’ve grown significantly, so we’re very satisfied.» Galaxus already made it into the top 30 online shops by sales numbers in Germany in 2024 and continues to gain market share in Europe (page in German).

An important anniversary

Galaxus will celebrate its 25th anniversary in May 2026. «Over the last 25 years, we’ve grown from a three-man show to a company with over 4,000 employees,» says Florian. «It makes me enormously proud to see how far we’ve come.» Until the summer, customers, employees and partners can be part of the anniversary celebrations and expect a fun and inspiring mix of nostalgia, looks into the future and interactive elements.
