Shortly before «Hawkeye» debuts on Disney+, director and producer Rhys Thomas was kind enough to sit down for an interview. The focus: his love for Hawkeye, his inspiration and Marvel’s role in production.

At the very latest since the release of the Christmas-themed trailers (which are somehow reminiscent of «Die Hard»), Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting the series debut of what might be the most unassuming Marvel superhero: Clint Barton aka Hawkeye.

To further amp up the anticipation, Rhys Thomas, producer of the series and director of three episodes, agreed to talk to a small group of journalists. Including me. In our interview, Rhys talks about how he feels about Hawkeye, how difficult it is to turn a comic into a series, Marvel’s role in it all and more.

I suggest you watch our entire exchange – you'll find the video at the top of the page.

I’m really looking forward to speculating wildly with you 😁.

I'm an outdoorsy guy and enjoy sports that push me to the limit – now that’s what I call comfort zone! But I'm also about curling up in an armchair with books about ugly intrigue and sinister kingkillers. Being an avid cinema-goer, I’ve been known to rave about film scores for hours on end. I’ve always wanted to say: «I am Groot.»
