Honor comeback: Honor Play 5 features 66W charger

We haven’t heard any news from Honor for quite a while. Now, Honor has announced the launch of a new smartphone on 18 May 2021. And as it seems, this smartphone is equipped with a supercharger.
The Honor Play 5 features a powerful 66-watt supercharger, as the tech blog GSM Arena reports. Apparently, the 5G-enabled Honor Play 5 will be launched in several variants. The latest leak shows a 5G-branded variant and an LTE variant.
Equipped with four cameras
As reports suggest, the two variants have different camera systems and some other technical differences.
According to earlier rumours, the Honor Play 5 will be equipped with MediaTek's Dimensity 800U system-on-a-chip (SoC). But this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, as several differing details about the chip have been provided in tech blogs. On top of the mentioned features, the new phone is said to boast a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display.
According to the rumours, it will come with four cameras – a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, as well as two 2-megapixel camera lenses for depth detection and macro shots.
A fingerprint scanner in the display is supposed to provide the necessary security. The new phone is reported to feature a 3800 mAh battery. According to GSMArena, it’s currently not yet clear whether these specifications apply to one or more variants of the Honor Play.
The Honor Play 5 will be presented to the public on Tuesday, 18 May 2021. No details have been announced yet regarding its launch in Switzerland.
