AMD has announced the date for the presentation of the Ryzen 7000 processors. Hardware fans should mark 29 August boldly in their calendars.
In a short announcement, AMD announces that it will unveil the next generation of Ryzen processors on 29 August at 7pm Eastern Time. Details of the Zen 4 architecture as well as the AM5 platform with DDR 5 and PCIe 5.0 are to be shown. Those who want to follow the show live will either have to get up early or go to bed late. The event will take place in our area at one a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, which is 7 p.m. Eastern Time on August 29. You can watch it on AMD's Youtube channel.
What processors to expect?
The Ryzen 7000 processors are based on the new Zen 4 architecture. The CPUs will retain the chiplet design of their predecessors, as well as their number of cores. They will be manufactured in a 5nm process at TSMC. That much is certain. In terms of performance, little is known yet. It can be assumed that they are over 15 per cent faster than their predecessors in single-threaded applications.
According to further leaks, four processors will be available at launch. Alongside the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X with 16 cores, come the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X and the Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X with eight and six cores respectively. Here are the leaked specs and prices in dollars. As always, you should take these leaks with a grain of salt.
