Rumor mill: The RTX 4090 is supposed to be twice as fast as the RTX 3090

A new graphics card generation from Nvidia is coming this year - that much is certain. According to rumors, it will be enormously powerful and will be released as early as July.
If hardware leaker @kopite7kimi has his way, the GeForce RTX-40 series will deliver decent performance. The RTX 4090 is supposed to have 126 streaming multiprocessors, which means 16 128 CUDA cores. For comparison, the RTX 3090 has 10,496, which is said to result in a doubling of gaming speed over the RTX 3090 thanks to better manufacturing - N4 from TSMC instead of 8 nm from Samsung.
Further, the card is said to have a thermal power dissipation (TDP) of 450 watts. Previously, rumors of 600 watts made the rounds. Nvidia relies on 24 gigabytes of GDDR6X with a speed of 21 Gbps for the memory.
Furthermore, the leaker thinks that the card will be released in mid-July. That would mean that it and potential others, like the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070, would be unveiled soon.
The largest IT trade fair in Asia, Computex, starts in a week today. We might learn more then. Personally, I am rather skeptical. Less because of the specs, but because of the launch. Such a launch in the summer slump seems rather unlikely to me. More likely is the end of September, as Nvidia usually does.
