Ubisoft introduces four new "Assassin's Creed", including one in Switzerland?

Translation: machine translated

Is "Assassin's Creed" coming to Switzerland? This question arises after a cryptic teaser for the game "Codename Witch". At the Ubisoft Forward Event, a total of four "Assassin's Creed" parts were presented, as well as numerous other Ubisoft games and series.

With the pre-show, the entire Ubisoft Forward lasted a full two hours. No wonder, Ubisoft unveiled an estimated ten years of "Assassin's Creed" on Saturday evening. And then the company still owns not entirely unimportant brands like "The Division", "Rainbow Six Siege" or "Mario + Rabbids", which also had to find a place. Here are all the highlights from yesterday's livestream, or you can watch the full event.

Next main game: "Assassin's Creed Mirage"

The next "Assassin's Creed" is returning to its roots. "Mirage" is said to play more like the first parts again. So more silent assassination with the hidden blades than open battles with axes and broadswords. It is set in 9th century Baghdad. You play Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from "Valhalla". The whole thing takes place 20 years before the excursion into medieval England.

"Assassin's Creed Mirage" will be released in 2023

"Assassin's Creed Codename Red"

While "Mirage" goes back to basics, "Codename Red" looks set to be another giant open-world RPG. Ubisoft speaks of the "next premium flagship title". In it, you'll go to feudal Japan, where you'll get to live out a "powerful shinobi fantasy". Let's hope this doesn't cross paths with the potential Ghost of Tsushima 2. It's being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, who last worked on "Odyssey."

"Assassin's Creed Codename Red" will not be released soon

"Assassin's Creed Codename Witch"

Info on another "flagship title" is even sparser. "Witch" is apparently to be set at the time of the Holy Roman Empire, i.e. towards the end of the 15th century. The focus is on the persecution of witches. The most exciting detail for us: the setting is the area of present-day Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Eager fans have already deciphered the cryptic logo from the trailer and made connections to Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim. The Swiss is better known as Paracelsus and lived from 1493 to 1541. He was considered a witch researcher until he was banished after experimenting on corpses. So it is quite possible that we will be treading on Swiss soil for the first time in an "Assassin's Creed".

"Assassin's Creed Codename Witch" will be released even less soon

Mobile game: "Assassin's Creed Codename Jade"

Once again, a spin-off of the series is heading to China. Ubisoft describes the title as a AAA mobile game. Set in 215 BC, you can throw yourself off the Great Wall with the iconic Leap of Faith. The open-world role-playing game is due out soon and will be free-to-play.

"Assassin's Creed Codename Jade" to be released soon

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter"

"The Last Chapter" will, as its name suggests, be the final DLC for "Valhalla". In it, the Norse saga of Eivor comes to its epic end. The DLC will be free of charge.

To be released in the next few months.

New platform: "Assassin's Creed Infinity"

What was originally rumoured as a possible "Assassin's Creed" MMO now appears to be merely a hub of sorts for all "Assassin's Creed" games. However, this was not really clear from Ubisoft's Forwards presentation.

"Assassin's Creed" series for Netflix

Not only games were on display, Ubisoft is also working on a television series. Not much more than that there will be a series for Netflix in collaboration with Ubisoft was revealed. Showrunner is Jeb Stuart, who wrote the script for "Die Hard" and "Vikings: Valhalla".

"Assassin's Creed" mini-documentary

Assassin's Creed has been around for 15 years. This 11-minute mini-documentary shows how the series has changed over the years.

"Rainbow Six Mobile", "The Division Heartland" and more

Besides "Assassin's Creed", there was also some info on other Ubisoft titles or productions.

Beta for "The Division Heartland"

Beta for "The Division Resurgence"

Beta for "Rainbow Six Mobile"

New trailer for "Skull and Bones"

New trailer for "Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope"

"Mythic Quest" Season Three

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
