T16 are economical electromechanical motor protection devices for currents up to 16 A. In the event of overload, they provide reliable thermal protection for the connected motors. T16 are typically mounted on small contactors B/BC or AS-/ASL contactors, but can also be installed separately on a DIN rail. When the motor current set on the current scale is exceeded, the relays trigger via bimetallic elements, switching the state of the two auxiliary contacts 1S/1Ö. This causes a pre-connected contactor to switch off. The relays allow for manual or automatic reset, feature a test and stop function, and include a triggered indicator. An additional reset button can be added to enable operation without opening the control cabinet. T16 have a tripping class of 10, are temperature compensated, and are sensitive to phase failure.
