Product details

CAT6 U/UTP Slimline Ethernet cables for data centers have a smaller diameter (3.8 mm compared to 5.9 mm) than standard CAT 6 patch cables. The bend radius is also smaller compared to regular patch cables. All of this results in better airflow in the server or network cabinet.

Although ISO/IEC and TIA standards specify the use of patch cables between 22 and 26 AWG, it is possible to use patch cables with 28 AWG. This leads to higher attenuation, especially at higher frequencies.

ACT recommends a maximum bundle size of 24 cables for PoE applications. In this case, the temperature of the cables delivering PoE power does not increase. The ANSI TSB-184-A standard limits the maximum temperature rise for the average cable in a bundle to less than 15 degrees Celsius above the ambient temperature.
