The Ice Layer Ultra Soft thermal pads are Alphacool's performance-oriented solution in the field of thermal interface materials, as they can almost be compared to thermal paste due to their outstanding properties. These Ultra Soft thermal pads conform much better to components, leading to a significant improvement in cooling performance.
Better than standard thermal pads? The ultra-soft material of the Ice Layer Ultra Soft thermal pads acts similarly to thermal paste. While standard thermal pads are merely compressed under pressure, which can result in uneven pressure on components of varying heights, this is nearly impossible with the Ice Layer Ultra Soft thermal pads. The material spreads as effectively as thermal paste, preventing the tallest components from experiencing increased pressure from the cooler. In the worst-case scenario, this can lead to PCB bending.
