HDMI Connection Cable Specification 1.4 (compatible with HDMI 2.0)

Ethernet Channel
The HDMI 1.4 specifications add a data and Fast Ethernet channel (100 Mbps) to the HDMI cable for high-speed two-way communication. This allows devices with internet connectivity and HDMI to share the internet connection with other HDMI devices. It also enables content sharing between multiple HDMI devices, all without the need for an additional separate Ethernet cable.

Return Channel
The new specifications introduce a return channel, which is responsible for bidirectional audio data transmission. It allows the HDTV to send an audio stream over the HDMI cable to an A/V receiver, reducing the number of cables required.

3D over HDMI
The standard specification 2.0 defines the splitting of the data stream into two stereo channels with a resolution of up to 1080p (1920x1080) for use in home stereo 3D systems.

Support for 4K x 2K Resolution
The new specifications enable support for up to four times high-definition (HD) resolution (4x 1080p), which is used in modern home theaters.

Connection System in Vehicles
Specification of the cable designed for use in cars. It defines the fundamentals for distributing HD content to devices in the vehicle (multifunction console in the dashboard, integrated panels in the seats, etc.).
