The CL-1 enhances the performance of passive microphone signals by providing a stronger and cleaner signal for your mixer or interface. It delivers a gain boost of up to +25 dB in two stages. The natural sound of your microphone remains uncolored and is fully preserved. However, the sound image becomes more detailed, allowing your microphone to be spoken into from a greater distance. Phantom power is required for operation, which powers the device. The Cloudlifter is easily connected between the microphone and the interface/mixer using an XLR cable. The metal housing makes this handy little box extremely robust.
