The compact fusion splicer from Digitus can be operated either on battery power or with an AC adapter and is suitable for the installation and maintenance of a wide variety of optical fibers. The device operates with precision motors and high-speed image processing, enabling fast and automated splicing processes of high quality. The 3.5-inch LCD screen provides a clear view of every step of the splicing process. Both the X and Y axes can be displayed individually or together. It supports multimode fibers (MMF/G.651), singlemode fibers (SMF/G.652), dispersion-shifted fibers (DSF/G.653), non-zero dispersion-shifted fibers (NZDSF/G.655), and bend-insensitive fibers (such as BIF/G.657). An integrated cleaver (fiber optic cutter) is included in the device. The splicer is used in construction, for maintenance work, and for the repair of backbone cables. Its lightweight design makes it ideal for transport, and a carrying case is included in the package.
