Product details
The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard was developed to provide an exceptional typing experience. It offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious feel, thanks to its high-quality finish and quick response times. The switches are mounted on sockets rather than being soldered, making them easy to replace without any soldering. This particular Ducky One 3 variant features a 60 percent mini form factor, which omits the numeric keypad, navigation and arrow keys, as well as function keys. This design minimizes desk space, making it especially suitable for experienced users and passionate gamers who know their needs.
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its Quack Mechanics design philosophy, focusing on four key aspects that influence the typing experience: keycaps, housing, sound, and stabilizers. All variants of the Ducky One 3 come with high-quality keycaps made of PBT, a semi-crystalline plastic that is highly resistant to abrasion, making it popular among keyboard modders. The keycaps are molded from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key lettering remains clearly legible. Unlike other plastics, these keycaps do not develop the usual gloss from intensive use, keeping the keyboard looking new for a long time.
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, combined with the three-stage feet, reduces wrist strain. To enhance sound and typing feel, Ducky tested 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable one for the Q-Bounce pad. This is paired with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
