Edimax Pro

Powerful solution for modern business. The CAP1200 is a premium Wi-Fi solution designed for SMB applications where excellent network performance is a fundamental requirement. The product supports the latest 2x2 IEEE 802.11AC technology for simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi data transfer rates of up to 1200 Mbps. With a combination of extensive features and high user-friendliness, the CAP1200 is the ideal dual-band high-performance solution for demanding daily business transactions. This is further enhanced by its industrial-grade construction and the option for easy wall mounting.

The EdimaxPro series offers a wide range of potential applications for businesses, schools, universities, hospitals, and hotels that require security, flexibility, and speed. Multiple SSIDs can be configured for individual departments or user groups, and the integrated RADIUS server allows for additional verification with a scalable AP group architecture for centralized management of the connected access points.

The capacity for high signal density is designed for up to 100 clients working simultaneously on the intranet or the internet. It is ideal for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) workplaces or other environments with a large number of mobile clients and devices that require consistent data roaming quality between individual access points.

Thanks to the supported PoE (Power over Ethernet) and the intuitive web-based user interface with extensive management options, the access points are flexible in their deployment for MIS (Management Information System) departments and their network administrators. Additionally, the optional security cover and the detection system for insecure access points protect against theft and unauthorized access.

Key specifications

Operating modes

Describes the function the device plays within the network, for example as a central transmitter, amplifier or connection bridge. A device can often support several modes.

Number of RJ45/LAN ports

Max. port speed

Describes the maximum data transfer rate. Is not necessarily supported by all ports.

Wi-Fi standard

Indicates which Wi-Fi protocol a device supports. Newer standards offer higher data transfer speeds and greater stability. A compatible router is required to use this feature.

Wi-Fi frequency band

The frequency band of a WLAN signal describes how many 2.4GHz or 5GHz signals the router can send simultaneously.

A router that uses dual- or even tri-band technology can better distribute the load in the network and thus rarely reaches its limit in terms of WLAN speed.
