Elite Screens

Home theater projectors require a light-rejecting screen in the living room to fully exploit their contrast potential. Additionally, a gray screen is beneficial for achieving the maximum black level. The CineGrey 5D screen fabric combines these two features into one screen. A high gain factor combined with a gray background results in optimal image quality and is just as important in the living room as the projector itself.

The ezFrame CineGrey 5D frame screen series is a high-quality framed screen with a daylight or high-contrast fabric. The aluminum frame is covered in velvet and has beveled inner edges to avoid any potential shadowing and eliminate stray light. This is also the main function of the gray screen fabric, which has a gain factor of 1.5. It significantly reduces stray light from the image, ensuring a pleasing, high-contrast picture even in brightly lit rooms.

Since the fabric is tightly stretched within the frame, it provides optimal flatness. If space allows, a framed screen is the ideal solution for your home theater.

Aspect ratio

Describes the format of image width to image height, with 16:9 being the common TV and office standard. Values such as 21:9 or 32:9 stand for extremely wide monitors, which often replace two old screens next to each other.

Gain factor

The light amplification factor, or gain factor, is an important factor when selecting a screen. Factor tells you something about the reflective properties. An ordinary white sheet of paper has a gain factor of about 1.0. It scatters the incident light homogeneously and diffusely in all directions. Thus it appears practically always equally bright, no matter from which angle you look at it.

Picture walls with a gain above 1.0 try to reflect a certain amount of light more specifically towards the audience, which usually sits axially in front of the picture. Developers achieve this through special surfaces and coatings. They take, so to speak, a small step towards the properties of a mirror. A gain of 2.0 describes a screen that - measured on axis - reflects twice as much light as a perfectly diffuse surface with 1.0. This is why we speak of amplification.
