The MEMS microphone, based on micromechanics, is a highly sensitive, compact microphone that can be used across a wide frequency range, offering many advantages over traditional techniques. MEMS microphones are now ubiquitous, for example in our smartphones. They rely on micromechanical silicon structures that are directly connected to the preamplifier technology integrated into the same silicon wafer. This allows such a microphone to be extremely compact while covering a wide range, including ultrasonic frequencies. Ultra-compact MEMS microphone with the SPU0410LR5H-QB from Knowles. Wide frequency range from 100 Hz to 80 kHz. Ideal for ultrasonic applications. Very low power consumption.
