This InLine® DisplayPort 1.2 cable complies with the standards promoted by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). The specification, released in 2006, has been optimized and expanded over the years. DisplayPort now supports Multi Stream Transport (MST) protocols, 3D, color profiles xvYCC, scRGB, Adobe RGB 1998, HDCP 1.3, and DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection). By increasing the data rate of the AUX channels to 720 Mbit/s, the DisplayPort interface enhances bandwidth. The current version 1.3 (as of 2015) raises the maximum data rate to 810 MByte/s for each of the 4 channels, totaling 3.24 GByte/s. This corresponds to a theoretical maximum resolution of 5K (5120 × 2880) at 60 fps and 8-bit color depth. The 4:2:0 chroma subsampling allows for compression, enabling support for UHD-2 displays. Ideal for home theater entertainment systems, presentations, training sessions, or video conferences, as well as digital signage installations.
