Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 is an operating system-independent, hardware-encrypted USB drive featuring an alphanumeric keypad for easy PIN access. The KP200 boasts hardware-based XTS-AES 256-bit encryption. It is also certified for military-grade security according to FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (in preparation) and offers enhancements that further increase data protection. The circuits are coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them; this resilient epoxy prevents attacks on the semiconductor components. The drive is designed to be tamper-evident, alerting the owner to any interference. It also provides protection against brute-force password attacks and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad is covered with a polymer layer that protects the keys and conceals their use by masking fingerprint analysis.

The KP200 features a built-in battery, allowing the drive to be unlocked without software initially and then connected to any device that supports a USB mass storage Type A. This offers users maximum flexibility across various platforms and operating systems.

Additionally, the drive offers two levels of write protection modes – a global mode that can be set by the administrator and a session-only mode that can be set by the user. Write-protected modes can safeguard the drive from malware on untrusted systems. Furthermore, the administrator can load content and set the global write protection mode, allowing the user to access the data without making any modifications.
