The POT system consists of a master and slave unit and offers extensive Ethernet extension with remote Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality over telephone lines. When a Class 0 PD device is connected, distances of up to 400 meters can be bridged using a high-power 48-watt PoE switch. Users can select a fixed data rate for the various telephone lines. The maximum data transfer rate can reach up to 60 Mbps full-duplex for the telephone cable.

The POT master unit is powered by the local PoE Ethernet network and then transmits data and power through the telephone cable using the remote slave unit. The remote unit separates the transmitted data from the power flow and, thanks to its PoE capability, supplies the PD device with up to 15 watts, provided a 48-watt high-power switch is used. The POT master/slave set also comes with a wall mount for indoor and outdoor use.

Equipped with dip switches, the speed of the telephone line can be adjusted to accommodate different wire gauges and distances. The POT set offers a cost-effective solution for remote PoE applications such as LAN-to-LAN connectivity, video streaming, FTTB, and MDU/MTU over a simple telephone line.
