the fans are great! i don't think you'll get anything as cool as these fans. but if you want to build a silent pc, i wouldn't take this case! there are others with sound insulation mats and without side windows.

So I installed a Corsair iCUE H100i Elite Capellix, which is a 240mm. I couldn't tell if a 280mm passes, but from memory they weren't in the list.

I have been using the enclosure for almost 2 years and have chosen more or less exactly this layout. In my case, however, 2x140 + radiator at the front and 1x120 at the bottom, the 3x120 at the top and one at the back for exhaust air. There should be enough space for a 3x120 in the front and 2x120 in the top - even a thick radiator goes well past the mainboard / GPU. From an airflow point of view, I would advise mounting the front fans in such a way that they transport the fresh air through the radiator into the case where it is then trnaspoered upwards together with the exhaust air from the GPU. This is certainly not quite as elegant as mounting the radiator at the top, since some heated exhaust air already enters the case - but it should still be sufficient for the VRMs and the GPU. If necessary, add another 120mm fan at the bottom front so that some fresh air can flow through from the bottom to the top.

you have a panel at the top that controls the fan there you can set some effects, with the icue commander you can control the fans via the corsair software. and yes they are RGB (not quite sure you can even control the LED's individually and make colour fades, only with the commander).

Because the case is not huge, but just a midi tower. Simply not long enough for a 360mm radiator.

mine doesn't look like it has room for a 40mm wider radiator. But you could print adapters with a 3D printer. Then everything fits everywhere. That's how it is with me now.

You have to control the fan speed via the mainboard. The speed you control is the effect of the LEDs and not the fans! The fans are connected to the mainboard and to the controller. The controller is responsible for the LEDs and the 3pin connection on the mainboard for the speed of the fans themselves. :)
