You can set a self-selected maximum flight altitude and maximum range in the app. However, in Switzerland, only flying on sight is generally permitted, and the flight altitude is limited to 150m within a radius of 5km around airports. The app does not enforce these limits, the user has to do that himself.

I also wanted the Spark at first. Then I was able to test the Mavic at a shop. I can fully recommend it to you. The Spark is more of a "selfie drone" although it takes very good pictures.
