I can't quite figure out what you really mean by your question. I have extended the antenna about 30 cm straight up. It doesn't matter at all to me how the unit is positioned. Do you have no DAB reception? The display should show some station name. If it says "no signal", then you are not in a DAB reception area. If you see a station name but there is no sound, your unit is faulty.
