I have 6 cameras in use via Apple Homekit, and I've personally only had 2 or 3 disconnections when I'm away from home, but the camera that has been affected comes back up fairly quickly. Otherwise I haven't had any problems.

I was actually always able to access it. But I can tell you from my experience that the person recognition is not really useful or reliable. The motion detection itself, on the other hand, works tiptop. The image quality is also rather poor. So if you want to recognise something in the picture, you should choose a camera with a higher resolution.

No, that's not how it works.
The camera itself is a motion detector and then records accordingly when motion is detected.
As far as I know, this has to be set up with HomeKit.

This camera requires an Apple product that acts as a HomeKit bridge (Apple TV, HomePod or iPad).

So either I missed something, the camera has never exceeded the level of Windows 95 I imagined it too easy. The camera only supports Apple HomeKit. I haven't tried it on a Mac, but an Android phone won't get you there.
I researched the Circle 2 quite extensively and then bought the View. I think the picture quality of the View is tiptop. Unfortunately, the connection via HomeKit is not my thing.

Manual entry of the W-LAN setting (in your case hotspot) does not work.
