Yours is an On/Off, i.e. one that closes/opens the circuit permanently. You can theoretically install it between the USB power supply and the Pi, so that you interrupt the entire power supply with the off button, but that's not ideal for shutting down, since it's an ungraceful shutdown (see link)... And that would only be possible with soldering. This cable is intended for ATX motherboards that have suitable pins to which you can connect the cable directly.

It works fine. The only thing you have to pay attention to is that you have to have a little bit of gear to press the cable and the key from the switch together.
