Can I use this cable to connect a MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) to an iMac 27" (2009). I want to use the iMac as a display.

This should work if the iMac has a Mini Displayport and the MacBook has a Thunderbolt. Press the key combination Command-F2 on the iMac that is to serve as the monitor.

Hello. I would like to connect my MacBookAir 2017 with my old iMac 2013 as a display. Both have a Thunderbolt connection. Is this combination even possible and is the cable the right one for it? Thank you very much for your reply!

This appears to be a mini display port cable. It is the same as Thunderbolt 2 but the protocol is probably not supported as it requires a dedicated chip in the connector which this cable seems to lack. If this is correct, the term Thunderbolt should be removed from the description.

The adapters included in PureLink's iSeries have a Thunderbolt-compatible Mini DisplayPort connector on one side that converts the signal to HDMI-A, Single-Link DVI (24+1) or VGA on the other side. According to the manufacturer, the item description is correct.
