Both are very similar, but in my experience I find the one from TP-Link better. The updates also came faster with TP-Link than with ASUS. 5 Noctua fans are sufficient for an ATX case if they are used correctly and the airflow is right. I still recommend having the airflow from the CPU cooler and GPU so that it supports the overall airflow. The network cards can overheat, but again it all depends on where they are positioned and the airflow in the case.

It works for me with a Joule Performance Gaming PC & Win11. No problems.
The TP-Link TX401 is supplied with two slot brackets as standard:
- Low-profile bracket (for narrow mini-towers)
- Standard adult bracket (full-height, for regular housings)
This means: It is not necessary to change to a high-profile bracket as long as you use the standard bracket supplied; it is already suitable for your housing and makes the use of a new network card or an external adapter superfluous.

I do not recommend this card - it conflicted with almost everything. I threw it away!!!

Schau einmal in die Anleitung deines Mainboards. Gewisse PCIE Slots werden deaktiviert wenn du eine M2 verbaut hast,.

This was the worst card I ever bought - the drivers conflicted with my PC heavily. Would not recommend it!!! I bought instead Marvell® AQtion AQN-107 10 GbE Network Interface Adapter which works beautifully
According to the TP-Link website, the card is for PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot. As far as I know, an x4 card cannot be plugged into an x2 slot, it doesn't fit in. I have it in an x16 slot and it works.

So technically the card fits into the slots in any case (you can also put it into the "big" PCI slots, that's how I have it). I am now running it under Windows 10 and it would be very untypical if it did not run on Windows 11. It doesn't say anything on the TP Link manufacturer's page either, but one if it says Win10 compatible, then that also applies to Win11.
I didn't have to install any special drivers, Windows does it all by itself. Installed, booted up, finished.

Yes, it runs on a PCIe 4 board. Speed remains at PCIe 3 x4 which corresponds to 4 GB/s gross, thus more than enough for 10 GBe, which corresponds to 1.25 GB/s. However, the card gets very warm, so a well cooled case is recommended.
